The new “TaxMod” is able to detect toxicity in Activision’s games. The upcoming title from Activision – Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is integrated with the TaxMod to detect toxic or abusive languages in the game.
The main goal here is for Activision to use AI-powered tools to identify and take action against players who are using hateful speech in their upcoming games. This AI-powred Voice Chat tool is named TaxMod which is trained to detect natural human hateful speech, abusive words, bullying, sexism, and discrimination.
Activision also planned to integrate this moderation into their existing Call of Duty games to improve the anti-toxicity solution. By that, they not only prevent text-based bullying or abusive words but also help in voice chat.
Activision started their beta test with 14 languages in voice chat in North America for limited existing Call of Duty games. Like Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty Warzone.
However, we all know AI tools sometimes hallucinate and give false output. So except for English, that tool is not going to be 100% accurate. For that reason, Activision’s TaxMod only reports the player ID later the verification will be done by humans.
