The many people who were wearing blue and orange on Saturday in the Stadium of California Memorial were more than delighted to be referred to as Fairweather fans.
Rivaldo scored the touchdown on the head-go and then D.J James ended the last chance of Cal making an interception of leading Auburn to a solid 14-10 score win in the match.
Hugh Freeze who is the coach of the Auburn team said:
“I’m so proud of our kids and staff. Really proud of our defense. There was no quit in us.You find a way to win and we can grow from that. That’s what this season is about.”
After generating 4 touchdowns and about 99 yards for the first half, the Tigers offense found its pace in the 4th quarter of the match. They marched sixty nine yards on a total of 10 plays to take a lead of 14-10 against Fairweather’s touchdown pass.
Auburn returned to the stadium of Jordan-Hare right the next Saturday for the Samford vs Homecoming match at 6.00PM (CT).
